Hear Me Out

I know we’re tired of hearing it, but it will be worth it. We need to save our online freedoms. Even if it means reblogging one post about net neutrality a day, DO IT. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE THIS BEAUTIFUL DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILY WE’VE BUILT ON TUMBLR.

Edit:

Look, I made this post, what, last December? Shit’s obviously changed since then. Not net neutrality stuff, but trump’s president now, it’s also half a year later. I’ve graduated high school, and have time to explain what I was getting at. I didn’t really put my thoughts to text very well, and it caused a backlash towards me and the community, especially since I put it under so many tags. What I truly meant was that every day we need to voice our opinions towards our governments. The day you choose to be silent is the day you die inside, and it’s rather unpleasant. I know this because when I was younger I would be quiet for fear of being yelled at and punished. I didn’t mean just reblog posts on Tumblr, or any other watering holes people go to to gossip. If you legally, and physically can, speak out for what you want, whether it’s the internet turning into a battle ground for corporations, a simple local election, or if the work place should get a snack machine, speak your mind. Utilize the tools you have to help guide this country. A single penny isn’t a lot, but a few million of them are. When you vote, or sign a petition like they pulled up last December, there are hundreds of thousands of people standing next to you in your opinions, and usually in your frameof mind. You may not like them as a person, sure, but they’ll help you get this country where it needs to be. When you refuse to put in your vote, or give up your voice, you let the other side win. They might not have won this election, but they’ve won. Whether they’re racist, sexist, or just a nasty person, you have handed your rights to speak against them, to them on a silver platter. So what if I’m just a young adult, I’ve realized that I’m doing better than other adults that have been going at it for a much longer time.
