Some news…because of the current state of my physical and mental heath, I am taking a leave from work as of now, which they said would be fine until I get the health issues sorted out.

I’ve been having a bit of a “fandom crisis” if you would lately, so I decided a good idea for me to rekindle my passion and love for sonic would be to make some YouTube videos. My boyfriend recently bought a capture card and I figured it would be fun to just record myself playing sonic games and then use the footage to make some little videos that I could upload to youtube.

This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while, and since I won’t be working for at least a week, this would be a good opportunity. Plus it would give me some motivation to draw for the videos, and be able to freely talk about some of my favorite games.

If I end up liking it, I’ll probably try to do some for other games too. I have loads of GameCube and GBA games I want to replay, and this would give me the motivation to actually sit down and play them again.

I actually have a bunch of footage from this time I played Spore and tried to make my dogs in it so that would be a good thing to upload there as well!

I could also later use the channel to make videos with my mom, who loves animal crossing and wants to try more games, which is something that a lot of people said they would enjoy seeing.

So now I’ve got to come up with my own YouTube identity and make a channel! Starting to think of some ideas, nothing good so far though. I could always just use my tumblr name but I feel like I want to try something different since I want something that would appeal to more than just sonic fans, haha.

Oh, I’m also thinking of doing non-gameplay stuff as well. I really want to make some videos on things like why sonic OCs (or fan characters in general) are not bad or cringey, what “Mary sue” culture was and why it was harmful, tutorials on using adobe illustrator to make vector art, and just some videos showing some of my art and characters, you know, just for fun.

I’m really not planning on shooting for monetization or anything like that, this is just a little thing for me to have something to be motivated to work on. Lately I’ve been depressed and felt kind of like a lump, so this would help me get out of bed and do something!
