Just to be clear: this was an AU request to the gifmaker and didn’t actually happen in real life. I’ve seen this on my dash a few times and a lot of people (through no fault of the gifmaker!) declaring him a magnificent ally and “safe” without realizing it’s fiction. Just a heads up.
Thank you ^^. I would like to apologise if I have hurt anybody, this was never intended to spread misinformation and it was never intended to be interpreted as real. I got a request from somebody to make an AU/fic gifset where Tom Holland defends his partner’s pronouns. I messaged with the person who requested it to make sure that I didn’t write offensive dialogue, and I thought when I posted it that I made it clear that it wasn’t real, by writing in the caption that it was a request and the tags are mostly AU/fic/x Reader stuff. Here is the actual ask that I got:
(The person who sent it requested to remain anonymous, and honestly I don’t blame them).
Again, this was never intended to mislead anybody into thinking that this was real. Considering I don’t do AU/fic gifsets that often, I can see how this has been misinterpreted, and I apologise. I will make sure to make it more clear in the future when my gifsets are edits/AU’s.
This was intended to be a fun and inclusive AU gifset that celebrated a group of people who are rarely included in these things. I’m glad that it has brought happiness to the people who realise that it’s an AU for fun, and I am sorry to the people who feel cheated by this. That was never my intention. I will be sure to make edits more clear if I ever do them in the future.
Ah, yeah, I saw another version of this post this morning. Thanks for clearing things up! When I saw “request”, I assumed someone wanted a gifset of that specific moment in that interview. Also, I didn’t reblog it from your blog so I didn’t see the tags. But once again, thanks for being open and clear, and thanks for making this! It really is nice to see, even if it’s fiction 🙂
